Hands-on Therapy Sessions

Take the first step with an initial evaluation

An initial evaluation appointment is the first step towards healing and pain-free living! It is ideal for clients who are new to Body Affects, or who have a new injury or issue. During this 90-minute evaluation, we will discuss your history in order to better understand your problem and, ultimately, create a solution-driven treatment plan to help you with next steps. The evaluation includes any applicable tests, physical assessments, as well as your first treatment session.

How do I know if physical therapy is right for me?

  • My pain is interfering with my life, activity, concentration, relationships, performance, etc.
  • I have a current or old injury preventing me from being able to do daily or physical activities.
  • I’ve been given a diagnosis that I don’t understand or I want a second opinion on my diagnosis.
  • I have no diagnosis, but I want to learn and understand what’s going on with my body.
  • I’m experiencing issues with balance, mobility, strength, flexibility or coordination.

Frequently Asked Questions

Learn How it Works

Multimodal therapy combines physical therapy, kinesiology, biomechanics, neurological reprogramming, joint capsule mobilization, scar tissue restoration, sprain strain restoration, and soft tissue therapy.
Our licensed physical therapist provides pain management solutions and custom wellness plans for clients by treating each body as a whole. We provide services and teach techniques that help integrate and align the skeletal, nervous, muscular and other major body systems, as well as address any mental and emotional overlay that may be manifesting as physical distress.

Kinesiology, by definition, is the study of muscle movement. It incorporates a combination of biomechanics, how the body parts are connected, and neurological activation, how the body parts work together. In a sense, to be a kinesiologist is to understand how the body works and functions to the fullest capacity.

Applied Kinesiology is an offshoot of Kinesiology studies that is typically used in alternative and energetic medicines. It involves practices, such as muscle testing, to determine what the body wants and needs.
Fascia is the connective tissue beneath the skin that attaches, stabilizes, encloses and separates muscles and other internal organs. However, fascia also has nerves that make it almost as sensitive as skin and has been found to contain the most pain receptors of any tissue type.

Often people have been to see several medical professionals without meeting their goals before finding us.

At Body Affects we aim to work with our clients to design a personal wellness solution. You will meet with the therapist who will review your present issue and your past medical history to better understand your individual situation. We then work with you to create a customized treatment plan and appropriate progressions and goals.

Pain is Personal

No two people experience pain the same way or feel pain with the same intensity.

There are, however, several commonly-used pain terms and phrases that describe – and point to – the types of tissues involved. Learning the structures associated with certain descriptive words can help you accurately express what is affected and will assist you when explaining your issue(s).
